Rwanda’s female bowler Henriette Ishimwe is all smiles after a bright start at the Fairbreak T20 Invitational Tournament in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The 19-year-old on Thursday, April 5, made quite the splash in her first test at the tournament thanks to a beauty of a delivery that bowled Australia’s Nicola Carey and a wily run-out that sent back Thailand’s Nattaya Boochatham.

MSN: Babette follows De Leede of cousin and uncle as she shines at FairBreak Invitational


Babette de Leede has had plenty of inspiration down the years for daydreaming about the sport she loves.

First, there was uncle Tim, who played at three World Cups for the Netherlands, up until the Caribbean competition in 2007.

As recently as last year, cousin Bas was part of the Dutch squad who played in the first round of the T20 World Cup in the UAE.

Daily Mirror: Atapattu smashes 54-ball century in FairBreak opener


Sri Lanka Women’s captain Chamari Atapattu struck a 54-ball unbeaten century, guiding the Falcons Women to an eight-wicket win over the Warriors Womens in the opening match of the FairBreak International Tournament in Dubai on Wednesday.

Opening the batting with New Zealand’s Suzie Bates, Atapattu hit 13 boundaries and five sixes, the last of which took the Falcons across the line, chasing a target 178, with 14 balls to spare.
