Stafanie Taylor to lead Tornadoes in FairBreak Invitational 2022 Tournament

The first edition of FairBreak Invitational 2022, a global women’s T20 tournament will be played in Dubai in conjunction with Cricket Hong Kong between May 1 and May 15. It will be the world’s first privately funded tournament in women’s cricket history. A total of six teams will feature in the competition and 19 matches will be played across the 15 days in Dubai. These six teams will have women cricketers from different parts of the world….

STAFANIE TAYLOR TO CAPTAIN TEAM TORNADOES AT

SDG FAIRBREAK T20 IN DUBAI 

 

Sydney, Australia (1 April, 2022) – West Indies captain, Stafanie Taylor, is thrilled to be skippering a powerful and diverse mix of notable and emerging female cricketers at the SDG FairBreak Invitational T20 in Dubai next month.

Taylor has highly accomplished Pakistan players Diana Baig and Aliya Riaz in her ranks as well as New Zealand captain Sophie Devine and fellow White Fern, Katey Martin. All five players have displayed passion and skill representing their countries at the Cricket World Cup in New Zealand recently.

Seasoned FairBreaker, Sterre Kalis from the Netherlands, also appears in the Tornadoes line up and will bring a wealth of experience to the team.

We wish this sensational squad all the very best as they prepare for this signature tournament.

Klang born Winifred Anne Duraisingam told the HERALD, “This is my biggest achievement thus far. I don’t know which team I will be in, but we will train together for two days before the tournament starts. I am looking forward to playing in a league with women from other countries.”

Malaysia’s number one female cricketer is the only player chosen to represent Malaysia at the Inaugural FairBreak Invitational T20 next month. Bringing gender equality in cricket to the forefront, this world-first invitational women’s cricket tournament will see six franchise teams comprising players from 36 countries play in an ICC sanctioned tournament. Meet Japan cricket star Shizuka Miyaji
